Adventure Time Extended Day Care
is providing day care and enrichment activities at
Del Rey Elementary School, Monday through Friday from
7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We
are working with Ms.Theurer and the Parent's Club to accommodate the distant learning component of Del Rey School as well as the hybrid schedule once children return to their classrooms for in person instruction. Our goal is to meet the child care needs of the Del Rey families.
We have implemented best practices to keep children, teachers, and staff healthy during the current covid-19 pandemic. Our safety procedures are consistent with school precautions as well as with the Contra Costa County Health Department guidelines. Our goal is to keep children together in consistent groups of 10 to 12 children with the same adult teacher and to keep the groups more than 6 feet apart from each other. Tables, chairs, games, educational materials, and surfaces in the classroom are cleaned and sanitized repeatedly throughout the day. All of our staff members wear masks.
Tuition is based on $8.50 per hour for full day and $8.95 per hour for half day. For families with two or more siblings enrolled on the same days and for Orinda Union School District employees, there is a 20% discount on total tuition ($6.80 per hour for full day and $7.16 per hour for half day). If full day and half day time blocks are combined in the same week, tuition will be pro-rated accordingly. These are the time blocks and tuition rates for the phase one distant learning school schedule. The rates will increase when hybrid learning begins, and the time blocks will change to accommodate school hours.

Adventure Time is open on most school holidays and teacher work days and will offer our Summer Day Camp program at Del Rey School beginning next year.
During the Distant Leaning Phase, the following billing and enrollment policies will be implemented:
—Enrollment will be on a month to month basis. Tuition is based on $8.50 per hour for full-day and $8.95 per hour for half-day. There is a 20% discount on total tuition for families with two or more siblings enrolled. If full-day and half-day sessions are combined during the week, tuition will be pro-rated accordingly.
—Tuition is due in advance on the first day of the month. Tuition will be considered late and account will be charged a $15.00 late payment fee if received after the 5th of the month.
—With prior approval from the site director, families may do one schedule change per month.
—Reduction of hours/tuition will go into effect at the beginning of the new billing period.
—Increase in hours/tuition will go into effect on the day the increase occurs.
—Families will not be given credit for unused times due to illness or absences.
—Drop-in attendance for extra days, time blocks, or hours must be approved by the site director. Drop-in charges will be applied to account and due by the due date on your statement.
—In the event that Adventure Time needs to close due to exposure to COVID-19, families will not be required to pay for closed days.
—Families utilizing Adventure Time during the distance learning phase will have priority for child care for phase 2 transitional learning.
—In the event of a local emergency or natural disaster, please check the Adventure Time website for information and updates (www.adventure-time.com). Tuition will remain the same for any closure up to 5 days in these cases.
—After we receive your Enrollment Application along with your $85 application fee, we will mail a statement to you with your tuition charge for the last half of August.
